About
The Northside Initiative
The Northside Initiative has been established to provide resources and networking opportunities for service providers working with children, young people, and families in Canberra's north.

Inspired by the work of our counterparts in the south, this website will be a one-stop shop for northern region service providers to access local networking opportunities, service directories, activities and events, data, and other relevant resources.

Beyond this, the Northside Initiative will also aim to promote collaboration between service providers to develop solutions that address the unique needs and gaps in our region.

This Initiative will be launched in June 2025 and will be trialed for one year as apart of the Network Coordination project.

About
Network Coordination
Network Coordination aims to improve the lives of children, young people, and families by identifying unmet needs and service delivery gaps and promoting collaborative practices between organisations and stakeholders across Canberra.

Four Network Coordinators exist across Canberra, including in the Inner North and Gungahlin, Belconnen, Woden and Western, and Tuggernong.

The Network Coordinators for the Northern Regions are:

-
Nicole Molyneux: Network Coordinator for the Inner North and Gungahlin (Barnardos Australia)
-
Ryan Schifleet: Network Coordinator for Belconnen (Capital Region Community Services)

Network Coordination is funded by the ACT Government Community Services Directorates Child, Youth and Family Services Program (CYFSP).
